Kyle Busch Vs. Brexton Busch | Full Breakdown
The Legacy of NASCAR Families Continues with Kyle and Brexton Busch
Throughout NASCAR history, family and racing has ran hand to hand, whether if that was with the Petties, the Earnhardt’s, the Allisons, and now the Bushes. To illustrate this, today, Kyle Busch will be going head to hand with his son Brexton Bush for the very first time in his career. This is a name we are going to hear for years to come in motor sports and it all starts here tonight as he’s going head to head with a two time champion—the guy that has taught him everything he knows.
Millbridge Speedway: A Special Venue for Dirt Track Dreams
Millbridge Speedway is a special place. Interestingly, it’s a place I won at here when I was 13 years old, running junior clone go-karts. Tonight we’re gonna get some dirt track grassroots racing here on DriveSmart. Enjoy it.

NASCAR Numbers and Nostalgia: The 51 and 18 Hit the Dirt
Right behind me is the number 51 of Kyle Busch and the number 18 of Brexton Busch. It is kind of cool. Furthermore, both numbers were made famous by Kyle Busch, and tonight when they go head to head, it’s gonna be interesting to see who comes out on top because Brexton is a track champion here. Kyle Busch is a two-time Cup Series champion.
Behind the Scenes of Dirt Racing: Water Trucks, Strategy, and Slippery Tracks
In addition, if you know dirt racing, you’re probably wondering why they are putting water on the track. Well, this is to make the track more slick. What’s more, you don’t want it to be straight mud, but you don’t want it to be packed down. Not to mention, you want the cars to slide around, so that’s why there’s a water truck fixing the track and making it reasonable to put on a good show tonight.
Passing the Torch: Kyle Busch Reflects on Racing with His Son
Still, NASCAR is built on families, whether it’s the Earnhardts, the Petties, the Allisons, or now the Bushes. What does that mean to you as a driver and a father? I mean, it means a lot. Indeed, you’re definitely right on that, where I didn’t really expect him to follow in my footsteps. Even so, I mean, we all kind of thought it’d be possible with my dad racing, and then my brother and myself racing—and now, now Brexton.
Grassroots Racing Energy: Practice, Predictions, and the Fan Experience
As a result, I find some really cool similarities between all of us, but obviously some differences too. Trying to get him to the path which is different. For instance, I grew up more on the pavement side. I feel like he’s grown up more on the dirt side. In fact, just trying to keep all of that for his development and making him the best we can make.
Head-to-Head Showdown: Brexton vs. Kyle at Millbridge Speedway
Perfect. As you can see, practice is taking place behind me and man, dirt is something different. Without a doubt, this is unlike NASCAR.
Similarly, if you’re mad and at Millbridge Speedway here tonight, you’re really just hanging out and having fun. No super agenda. Austin Martin Hill of AB Enterprises owns that. Overall, the team’s just a good buddy of mine. I drove for them a lot last year, so I just enjoy hanging out with them and coming. Truly, this is some of the best racing out here.
I just love it. It’s incredible. My first time here in quite some time and these guys are ripping it. It’s the Kyle West Show tonight. You’re taking Brexton or Kyle?
All in all, I’m gonna go with the age and experience and wisdom—I’m gonna pick Kyle. But, man, Brexton’s got a ton of seat time, though. A lot of races and a lot of time under his belt. Moreover, I expect him to be competitive. The kid’s smooth and he’s got a pretty good teacher, I would say—and his dad—he’s got pretty good guidance. Absolutely. He’s gonna be a heck of a show here tonight. Enjoy.
Let him finish with his stuff. Alright. Yeah. Ready? Ready. Turn around. There you go.
A Night to Remember: Family, Dirt, and the Future of Racing
Regardless, as heat races are continuing behind me, the stars have come out tonight. I’ve seen Ryan Newman, Kyle Larson, Nick Sanchez, Matt Benedetto, Brad Moffitt—who is a member of the Richard Petty family. Undoubtedly, this is a heck of a show here behind.
This is grassroots racing at its finest. I’m covered in dirt right now and the main event hasn’t even started.
Despite that, as a YouTuber with an iRacing channel who supports local dirt tracks—and this is also a track you can now find on iRacing. Hence, Kyle said the reason he doesn’t drive a 410 sprint is because his mama won’t let him. That’s not happening. No. I draw the line somewhere.
For this reason, they are so dangerous. I feel like it makes me nervous. It already makes me nervous enough. Under those circumstances, it already makes me nervous enough when he’s doing non-wing. Initially, I was like, look, let me not now. Couple more years. Stop. So, yeah, no, I’m, what’s it called—the restrictor plate on that one. And we are not going anytime soon.
Kyle vs. Brexton Busch: Dirt Racing Showdown and the Future of NASCAR at Millbridge Speedway
We’re at events here tonight—Hyper Millbridge. Brightwater. Why do you still have your sunglasses on? Well, I’m getting blasted with dirt and I can’t keep dirt out of my eyes. But that kid, Wyatt Miller, he is fast. He is the future—that is Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s grandson—and he’s proven that he has some talent here tonight at Millbridge Speedway.
So let’s get on with the features. Trust me, if money’s on the line, I’m gonna go for it. Get our final couple buggies ready to go for their event. As you see behind me, Kyle’s getting ready. He’s getting strapped in. It’s go time. It is showtime. Truly, this is the moment we’ve been waiting for all day.
All week, this event has been hyped up: Brexton versus Kyle. And now it’s time to see them go. Who’s gonna come out on top? I’m excited for it.
Epic Dirt Racing Showdown: Kyle Busch Wins, Brexton Impresses, and Millbridge Delivers Nostalgic Thrills
This is absolute insanity. Oh my gosh. Dirt racing is something different. I’m getting blasted with dirt right now. Kyle’s currently one position over Brexton. Brexton’s right there on him and we’re about to go back to green flag racing.
There you have it. Kyle did it. I got dirt all over me right now. Brexton put up a fight. Kyle went to the outside there on the final restart and started picking these guys off, but it was nuts. Bad. What a race. That was exciting.
So the head-to-head on the Busch family—Kyle takes it home, but what a show.
More importantly, what a show. So this was my first dirt experience in a while. Like I said, I used to race here as a kid—haven’t been here in probably 14 years or so. It’s been a long time. But, man, I miss it. This is a cool industry. I love dirt racing. I forgot how much I adore this, to be honest. Just the family feel looking around the track.
Grassroots Dirt Racing Lives On: Family, Legends, and Packed Stands at Millbridge Speedway
There’s kids here playing ball before the race. Everyone’s here with their families. Clearly, this is dirt racing. It’s the heart of racing. This is grassroots racing. It is the heart of racing. And this is why. This is where these drivers are cutting their teeth at. You see so many veterans like Kyle Busch, there behind me.
Notably, they get back to this for a very reason—because it’s so important to keep this type of racing alive in America. Because every year it seems like we have less and less tracks, and more and more going away.
But it was a blast here tonight. So many veterans are out here—Ryan Newman was out here, Kyle Larson—and you know, it’s good to see classic racing like this still alive.
And obviously, the turnout here tonight is still big. They packed the grandstands here tonight. So with that said, that’s some dirt racing. Hopefully we can do it again at some point. And I’ll catch you guys in the next one. Don’t forget to join the network to stay updated!
