Behind the Scenes: First Steps Inside the Hauler, Countdown to Daytona, and Helmet Cam Antics!

 This is kind of funny, dude. I’ve been in like every hauler here, but I’ve never walked into this one. I’m out. I know. Some behind the scenes here. Oh yeah. How’s it feel being in the DGM hauler for the first time? It is cool, like it is, it’s just funny to think about it on our Countdown to Daytona.They all look the same. All look the same. Oh, I got a lot of stuff. That’s a lot of pictures. Absolutely, we’re going to put yours up there too. Optimote Josh, just for fun. We got, how many Kyle’s we got up there too? We got quite a bit. A lot of Kyle’s. We’re big Kyle Weatherman fans. Two Rocky’s. Two Kyles. Everybody else doubled up.

Who’s that? Oh, it’s a text from me. Okay. I’m going to tell her that was. I lost my voice last week, but I kind of got it back, so we’re good. How do you lose your voice? I was sick, I think. But, yeah, I didn’t like, I’m still, I’m not sick now, but I was sick for, I feel like I’ve been sick for five years, so.

Just being old. That’s part of it, I guess. How’s the full home here for the first time. Dude, it’s awesome. I’m excited. I’m excited just to get on the track. Tell me about the new helmet. Same helmet, but got this camera for the day. So we’ll get some good coverage here. You’ll get some good content. If it doesn’t fall off, we’ll see.

Yo, if you want, if you want, uh, I’ll share it. Yeah, I would love to. I would love that. That’d be some awesome content if we can get that. I’ve installed it last night. That is cool. Tell me about the, tell me about the camera. That is something we don’t typically see. Yeah, I Assuming we’re allowed to have it, because other people I know have had a few cameras, um, talk to, or I saw Raja Karuth post this exact camera, Friday, on his Instagram, and I was like, alright, guess I could get that overnighted, and uh, we’ll see if it works.

First Laps at Rockingham: Ryan Ellis, DGM Racing, and Navigating the Unknown!

I got a SD card in there, so that’s a good start, and I charged it last night, so, theoretically, we’ll get some good coverage of me driving really slow around here for the first couple laps, because I’ve never been here.

What’s going on guys as you can see the NASCAR season has officially started as you can see behind me we are at Rockingham this track is iconic. This is where dale earnhardt has won championship sat but here today Ryan ellis will be getting a feel For the first time at DGM Racing and for the first time at Rockingham, there’s a lot of unknowns here today.

What will the car feel like? Will we have speed? What do we need to gain on before we get to Daytona to have a shot? With that said, buckle up, we’re going for a ride.

Yeah, um, I would imagine not. It’s cold and wet. Yeah, theirs starts to start in 10 minutes so it’s not gonna happen. Ain’t gonna happen.

So we’ve been waiting around for like, eight hours it feels like. Is it finally time to get going? I hope so. I don’t know when we’re going out, but I’m excited because it’s a really, really cool place. And I get to make my first laps in a DGM course. That’s going to be exciting then. What are you expecting then?

I have no idea. That’s kind of part of the fun, I think. I have no idea. Hopefully everything works. Helmet connection. All that stuff. Let’s get it.

So I’m here with Brian Ellis, and we’re dying, and testing. So off the gates, quick, how are you feeling going into Daytona in the new year, and we got everything ahead of us, and we have kicked it off. Yeah, I’m just really excited. You know, I feel like we’ve set the bar high, but obviously there’s a little bit less of a field here, but I’m a little bit cold off the track, I think we’re okay with, um, and I know we’ve probably put some and tried some stuff, but we’re just really, really happy and I feel like this is a really, really good start to the year, obviously.

I’m just really excitedabout the Countdown to Daytona. Absolutely. When you make a move on your team, how important is it to Go ahead and knock the dust off, knock the rust off, and get going here as quick as we have, versus getting to the track at Daytona with an all new team, going to the hauler for the first time, getting into the quad for the first time.

It’s huge. Um, I mean, typically we’d be working with Tab Spotter for the first time. At the Countdown to Daytona, it is a really, really tough place to kind of learn it in its life, its timing on things. So, to have today at low risk, you know, slower track in Daytona, to learn that, not to skim at Mario, um, it was, it was huge.

I’m happy because it was a low risk way to earn a new track, put in a new team, and back up and go home with a car in one piece. Absolutely.
